We just learned that the ACFE@AU is now an official club (recently approved by American University) and it is sponsoring Kogod's First Annual Lecture on Fraud and Forensic Accounting.  It is Tuesday, October 4th.

They are pleased to have Dr. Howard Schilit, head of FSD Group and author of the book Financial Shenanigans, as their guest speaker.   He will discuss how to detect accounting gimmicks and fraud in financial reports.  The event will begin at 6pm and will be followed by a reception.
